What is Mixed Martial Arts Training
MMA is combat sport in which two copetitors attempt to achieve dominance over one another by utilising a wide variety of martial arts techniques. These include striking, grappling & submission techniques. MMA is a hybrid style of fighting, using techniques from a number of traditional martial arts styles. MMA incorporates a good mixture of ground fighting, stand-up striking and takedowns.
MMA has a long history dating back to the late 1800s when wrestlers representing fighting styles such as jujitsu, catch-as-catch-can, greco-roman ect met in tournaments throughout europe. This later evolved with two styles dominating the competitions wrestling & Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. This represented the firt step towards the evolution of cross training. Now most stand up fighters have recognised the importance of grappling & submisiopn skills and have added them to thier existing styles.
Our fighters will learn a combination of styles which are effective at every level of combat.
